5g tank

Hi,

I had African Dwarf Frogs with Bettas and they did great. You could get two or three of them to go along with your Betta.

Hello,

I am planning to set up small tank. It would be about 5g too, and i wonder if it is ok to keep Betta alone in it? Or do they like company and would feel upset if i dont put in any more fish to its tank? If it would, what could be the best "friend" for my Betta?

I dont want to risk killing my fish or giving them bad life, so i want as resistant fishes as possible so they could have a happy life and withstand my mistakes, if i make any :)

Also, what would be the most suitable plant (if any?) for my 5gallon? Resistant and easy to care after plants would be ideal. I want them to be easy to keep and not necceserily very fancy and baeutiful.

Thank you for your answers :)

Hi and welcome to Aquaria Central!!!

If you kept your Betta alone, he would be perfectly fine. But if you want to get another fish/frog, it would probably be fine to put one or two African Dwarf Frogs in the tank with him.

I think Java Moss is would be a first good choice for a plant. They're easy to keep and grow pretty fast.

Hope this helps!

Java moss for sure, and/or java ferns work well in small aquariums also.

I have one 8-leafed fern in a 5g betta tank that has sprouted on every single leaf :thm:

nice java vern r the best plant.. thank u guys imma finish my tank like a week.. i have another question when im feeding my frogs blodwarm wont my betta snatch it first b4 my frog will get it.. wat should i do

That will be a problem. The betta will snatch at anything he can get his mouth on, as soon as he sees it. You can try distracting the betta during feeding, but not sure what your other options would be.

hmm. dont dwarf frog jump if there a hole in the tank should i cover the tank hole...

Yes you sohuld cover it. It's not hard. I just use tape to cover it. You could also puta pieco of tinfoil on and just tape it on.

Tape some plastic wrap over it. works wonders :D

Yes, it would be difficult to feed the frogs if you had a betta in there. My female betta is a real pig and lunges at any bloodworms that she sees. I have to make sure the betta isn't looking in that direction and sneakily feed my frogs.
