I have a 6.3 Liter tank.. which is.. apparently 1.66 gallons?
Anyway, I'm guessing the only thing that I can keep in it is a single betta fish?

You could do a betta with a ghost shrimp or two, and maybe a small snail. Although some may argue that it's too small of a tank for any vertebrate.

How about just some plants?

Carefull if you add a shrimp to the Betta, it might end up as an overnite snack. Sometimes the LFS has Bettas swimming in tanks with other fish or shrimps, that would be a good inicator if they get along. If you buy him solo, sometimes the Bettas get along with other creatures, sometimes not! But that is pretty small for a tank, a Betta alone would be the best bet, with plenty of water changes and maybe a small plant that will not grow to large to take away the Betta's swimming space!

Good luck!

they sell them to make money.

why did you buy a tank so small?

5g tank. . .a betta. maybe a snail or some shrimp.
