Well, there is a point there, the President did not call the one idgit "draconian", but reading between the lines, the idgit DID arrest a man for breaking into his own home--I would use the term "draconian" to describe that bizarre action!
And, if they throw one of these "balloon crowd" into prison, at an expense of $40,000.00+, per year, to the American people--"draconian" is far too polite ...
Geesh, lighten up people! I am NOT here to insult you. I kinda like you ALL! I mean I am here, aren't I? I mean I could go see if Obama would like to have a beer with me. Or, ask the local police/sheriff if they would like me to speak before their "brotherhood." <grin>

My point to kbs was that telling someone that they can't post what they want to is ridiculous because we all do it. I stand by my assessment of her knowledge. I have no problem with someone not knowing something because I know that knowledge is acquired through hard work. And some of us have to work harder than others to do it. When I hire a new employee I tell them there are only 3 things they need to know about fish to be a good fish person. #1 You have to know what you know. #2 You have to know what you don't know. #3 You have to know the difference. In my estimation she doesn't measure up to this standard. She might be the nicest person in the world, but in the situation of forums such as this I'd rather have a rude person who does measure up than a nice one who doesn't. I see forums such as this as first and foremost a place to exchange information. Correct information. There are some here who in my estimation see it first and foremost as a place to engage in a mutual colonic irradiation session. I have no problem with this as long as their interests don't conflict with mine. When they do I'm not shy about pointing it out. Kbs I will start pm'ing you as I see the need. When I make a mistake and someone shows me the error of my ways I'm grateful to that person for teaching me something I didn't know. I hope you're a secure enough person to feel the same way. As always only time will tell.
I can only speak for myself, of course, but the logic of your post is borne out in the words which describe it--obvious to me ...
But please, I was only speaking on the topic and ideas which the first poster stated for us to discuss.
Right off the top, I realized I wanted NO ONE in jail/prison at a big expense to me or my fellow tax payers. I did NOT want their children thrown into foster homes at a cost of $40,000.00+ a year to me, and my fellow tax payers. And, possibly, at 18, or so, the "kids" hitting the streets with no strong family ties for them, no college funds available to them, perhaps destined for SSI because of events and no mental help, assistance to the family, etc.
Frankly, I'd just like to see 'em all (the "balloon crowd" AND the cops) go have a beer with Obama (coke for the children, of course!) Perhaps a little mental health help for the parents/family ... and the news get back to really important stuff. The cops can go look for my Harley Sportster which was stolen over two years ago!
Thank you for your input; it is greatly appreciated here. Perhaps future discussion in these threads will find us all with more pleasant experiences. I'd like that. I love fish, but sometimes it is fun to discuss other things. If everyone agreed with me, I would expect I was being "put on."

you guys are too much. i never said you can't post what you want. i was saying think about what you are saying before you say it and if you are going to be quoting me then don't associate my post with remarks belittling people because they chose not to or can not for whatever reason pay for an education. that is the only reason i related it to myself, because you tied my post to it. i don't view myself as someone who is poor or uneducated because i'm neither. i don't come from a getto and even if i did, i'd still be a good person. i don't go around posting innacurate information and again, feel free to go to 'posts by bks' and show me all the misinformation i spread around and i sure as hell am capable of knowing what i know and what i don't know and i am perfectly able to admit if i don't know the answer. you can't show me where i posted misinformation because i didn't. now leave me out of it. if you guys feel good about yourselves by saying government employees are slaves and public servants work for you(i could have sworn they were providing a service to society, not doing your personal bidding) to feel good then go for it. you must pay a lot in taxes to single handedly employ all the public servants in your state.
and as for the original topic, the guy is an abusive father, and has a history of assaulting his wife. the fact his child is soo afraid to both lie and disobey that when his father tells him to lie he gets physically sick is why the kid needs to be taken from the father. also, i don't see how having him pay back the money he cost the SYSTEM back is going to cost the taxpayers anything.

I am sure many agree and support your thoughts. I was just hoping someone might, kinda, see what I was attempting to point out. If my thinking is "strange" or "weird", I see no point in hiding it; others might as well be given opportunity to show/explain me different!
Living in ignorance is much worse than a moment of embarrassment for me, as someone points out why my views are in error!
