There are a lot of great people on this site, getting from Goldfish to Reef keeping has been an interesting couple of years. Our Saltwater tank is 7 Months old now, and running great. Our biggest helper is the Octopus, 300F HOB Skimmer, it really pulls and keeps a nice clean surface. We manually maintain everything, we're home enough to pull this off but it is a daily commitment. Upgrades pending, sump pending, bigger tank pending...get it. :turtle:

Sorry got2envy, I didn't know you had asked about the skimmer. It's the HB-300F, and it is wonderful. I dump a very brown cup about every 48 hours. It settled in quickly, and is pretty quiet too.

Thanks for the info, I have a Remora so I wanted to try the Octopus on this tank since I have heard such great things...decided against the seahorse tank..they are special fish and need attention that I cannot give them at the moment...ahhh maybe when I retire lol
