i like it but it gets emptyeir and emptier has you get to the top so maybe something taller up there

my bad, i thought u were talking about the bubbles, I am still waiting for the vals and rotala indica plants to get taller. They will eventually reach that height. I am also getting some driftwood. I feel that way too, with the top being to empty. I think that is why most of the fish stay at the tip top or near the plants.

The rotalla WILL create a nice green back ground once filled in. Then you will be pulling it out handfuls at a time at water changes.

I can't help you with the plant issues, how are said plants doing now? Maybe the light isn't enough for them? Well, IDK, I'm not a plant person. Not aquatic anyway.

^The plants are doing really good now, I am putting like the max amount of excel in their every day, the only plants I was having probs was with hornwort, which seemed to be dying because of excel, so i put that in my 10G plant growing tank. I will take a FTS today after I come back home.

The light is way more than enough for them as it is a 4X54 T5 HO with 2 plant grow, 1 10k, and 1 6.5K

btw, the vals are putting out so many shoots/sister plants every day, I started out with ~4 and now I have over 100. It is getting denser and denser. I prune all the shoots that go towards the side where the other plants are as I only want the forest in one section of the tank, not the whole tank. I am selling those.
I also noticed that I have 2 female GBRs, i couldn't tell when I got them, they were small(.75"). I will just get a male whenever I go to the LFS.

I don't know if this is just me, or whatever, but IMO, It's looking a bit divided (I guess thats a good way of putting it??) Like.. You've got your grassy plants over here, your leafy plants over here, etc. I'd mix it up and make it look a bit more natural but thats just my opinion. That aside, it's looking great!

Thanks, I agree with you. But if I put 1 or 2 vals somewhere else, the whole tank would become a forest. I think the plants don't flow together, I might just start selling the vals as they are growing like crazy. I might take them to my LFS and buy some more fish. I might get rid of the giant anubias too cuz it leaves so much empty space with the leaves around it cuz the leaves give off so much shade, but my upside down cat loves it, cuz it hides under the huge leaves full time.
I think I will try to get the vals in the back of the whole tank or a bit everywhere, but then I am going to have to prune every single week or every 4-5 days.
