No suggestions, nothing?

are those 2 male bettas? Good luck with that

just what i was about to say to be honest.

its lookin really nice *pats back* :) hope it continues to thrive!

I noticed on page 15 you mentioned your plants were 'bubbling' and thought it may have been a bad sign, well its quite the opposite lol
as plants make food via photosynthesis, they produce oxygen as a by-product. If they are growing extremly well, it will take the form of tiny bubbling known as 'pearling'.
hope that helps!

thanks, I did know about pearling, but I thought it only happened when you had Co2.

The 2 male bettas are in different tanks:)
the blue is in my 72G
and the red is in my 10G

I got Discus!!! I went to this local breeder who brings in fish from other countries/continents, and is a discus breeder. I was planning on 20 green neons, but when I saw them, they were so tiny, as they were babies, and I don't have my breeding rack setup yet so I couldn't grow them out, so my angels wold have eaten them, so I got 5 baby discus(2") and 6 bright yellow shrimp. My LFS said that I could be their supplier for yellow shrimp and PB angels(I have a breeding pair). The discus are acclimating as I type, and so are the yellows.
So excited, I got them for so cheap, 5 for $60!!!

sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, I am so happy, I have wanted to get discus since I ever got into this hobby. I hope to breed them once I successfully raise the angelfish fry(the first batch got eaten). I need to find a place that sells MB(meth blue) so I can artificially raise the fry. So far, the discus are grouped together in a corner of my tank except 1, that 1 is hiding under my DW. The rest are next to the heater. I need to get more plants so they feel safer in the tank and don't stress. Pics soon. The yellows are super active and swimming with my Tiger Shrimps.

Baby discus take a lot of care and stress easily. Discus can die from stress alone. AT that size you are looking at multiple feedings a day, frequent water changes and high temperatures. Are you sure your other fish will be ok with the 80+ temperatures that discus need? I would do some research, it can be tough to raise discus in a planted tank with other tankmates but it can be done. I wanted discus for a long time as well but when I found out more about their care I decided to go with an easier cichlid.

^Thanks for heads up.
Yeah, all my fish can take temps in the 80s, right now, the temp. in the tank is 84-86 F range so I think the temps are fine. I am going to be taking out my angels as they are probably going to be the best competitors with angels for food so they are going into another tank or getting rehomed. Most of the discus are now colored up, but I am still leaving the lights off to reduce stress as it is a new home, and they need to adjust. They were in a bare bottom breeding tank when I bought them, and the seller had lots of them(40+). Right now, I have a giant piece of DW, vals, and rotala indica, and an attempt at dwarf hairgrass in the tank with the substrate. I will be putting in some more floating plants in eventually and then once I get my Co2, get plants.

Hey, sounds great! We have discus in my area which are £18 each (not sure what that in $$$) and others which are 40+ each. You got a good deal! I have always wanted discus too :D but with my exams and all starting after summer they would get in the way with the water changes and feedings lol I'd still do some research about them to be safe ;)
so, whats the plans for all your tanks now???
