Well, I hope the discuss does well, and I hope you find it a good home someday!

Thanks!:)

same here, it is doing really good so far, and looking beautiful...............but yes, i eventually need to rehome it or purchase a 40G+ tank so i can get a few more of them.

Erm, I think you should do a lot of research before getting anymore discus. From what I've seen and heard, discus like being in shoals, 5+ and a 40g is not enough room. If not in a shoal, the discus gets stressed and I don't know where you got your info on it being ok with same level fish but I don't think that is true. Never heard of that before. You might want to also look up to see if your BN or other algae eating fish might be attacking the discus. Algae eaters are known to eat the slime off discus, depending on the fish.

yeah;) that part i know otherwise i would have had discus a long time ago;)

yeah, that part i also knew;) that plecos would eat the slime but i;'ve only heard of plecos larger than 6" and my ABNs are in a separate breeding tank currently, maybe my SAEs but they prefer playing around in the DW, or playing tag

yeah, the slime coat is really important for discus especially;) i meant like doing 4 in the 40G long, or 45G long, i would probably do like 5 in a 55G minimum. and it would be BB so you could even do 6, but 5 is better as the less bio-load the healthier the fish i guess.

Please quote where you saw that information, or at least provide a link...

which info? the one, the slime coat one? the same level fish swimming thing? or the tank size?

i have a few links to sites with lots of info

so which one do u guys want? i have them bm'd

55g is too small for discus

just saying...

these all sort of make sense when combined together, some include stuff about 2 types of aquariums like the community and the discus only............yes, i know that discus should be alone in a "DISCUS" tank, but many people have done it, and i have never seen a tank planted with discus W/OUT any other fish.

this site below says not to keep discus alone but contradicts itself by saying u can keep 2 by getting a divider?

search alone with ctrl: f, and u'll find a guy that has done it, but yeah, he didn't like the result as it became dominant and wouldn't get along with other discus.

this site doesn't do the alone part, but shows that discus are less stressed and will come out into the open if seeing other fish out there...........

i have like 2 more, but they aren't bm'd so i'll try findign them.............

55g is too small for discus

just saying...

r u sure?
i have seen lots of show tanks 55G in size with 4-6 discus. especially breeding tanks or BB tanks. maybe it is just what i have seen, but if i ever try them again, i'll be sure to post a thread in discus section asking those questions so i have answers from owners......................
