I recently picked up a 100 gallon tank on CL and am looking to get a t5, NO, or PC lighting fixture that will strech across the entire length.

I plan to grow some low light plants, and run a school of Tetras and Corys. Ideall output would be around 200 watts.

But, I need it as inexpensive as possible..And would like the fixture to have legs that mount to the aquarium sides.

Thanks for any input,

www.fishneedit.com has cheap fixtures, just pickup a pair of the 36" strips with 4 lamps and you're set. Since 2 lamps models are out of stock and the 4 lamps models give you the option of high light if the high-tech bug ever bites.

Cheap T5 lighting

Doesn't need T5, I got a T5 on my 29 gallon and it's nice...
It's hard to believe the most expensive part of an aquarium is the lighting........:swear:

Thanks for the fishneedit.com link It's at the top of my price range but doable....:woot:

do your research.
I picked up cataline power compacts..they work fine.. but the T-5 with individual reflectors would have been my choice had I studied a bit more.

btw the catalina power compacts work fine and the plants are doing quite well.

I used a 65 w over 29 g and no CO2..good, albeit a bit slow) growth.. but the red plants are red and the green plants are green. ;)

Even try hydroponic stores, my local shop sells T5HO fixtures with 6700k bulbs cheaper than any e-retailer but they dont come with plexiglass shields, but thats curable with a drive to Lowes'.
