Just figured id tell ya, you can buy full hoods for almost any size tank at online mail order places. If you have a center brace like you said you need to buy 2 and they make them wider to fit your 75. Me i just buy 10 dollar piece of plexiglass and make my own. Very simple to do and then all you need to do is buy striplights. You can cut and predrill for the small hinges that u can buy at hardware store for pennies. works extremely well for me. If you need help just pm me.

Here are a few picts of my 125 gal light hood
close to 300 watts over the tank

the round things on the ends are computer fans that i wired up, smaller fans blowing in larger fans blowing out (the tank is a North American Native tank, so its cold water)

those fans have a temp sensor wire that you do not need, I had to get an AC converter 12volt i think.

After using the top for a year, the only drawback is that the middle panel is fixed so it makes the center of the tank hard to get at., but i had to put lights there

I built a 75 gal top (sorry no picts) the tank only has a 30 watt florescent fixture (non planted tank) but I made 3 doors on the top so i have better access.
