80*F Dwarf Neon Barrel in -Degree weather

That. Is. Awesome.

very cool! Didn't realise anything besides koi could be kept outside in freezing weather, let alone be able to spawn! Have you had to reseal the barrel at all? Seems the constant expand-contract of the heat vs. the cold would wreak havoc on the seal

Wow. If you feel the barrel is getting overpopulated I will take dibs on any of the little ones you would like to get rid of. I've had goldfish in my yard pond for 14 years now--all descendants of the original six, they're completely feral now--but would rather change over to something smaller for mosquito control purposes. Can heat in winter if needed here in W. TN., the goldies of course did not need it. ;)

Yeah I don't think the fish even realized what was going on outside. I've never sealed the bucket. It just hold water naturally I guess... It's a really old bucket my gfs parents had in their yard forever and they didn't want it anymore cuz it was holding water which was perfect for me. When I first started it leaked a lil and would have to refill every other day or may a couple days btw. Now since the winter I haven't notice any leaking on the sidewalk.

Did your goldfish breed? How big did they get and are they just regular goldfish?
