Out of nowhere my tank started leaking on at the bottom lower left and right corners. I drained the water out and will be attempting to reseal it.

However, I'm having problems finding the leak. When it was leaking water would be coming out from the top of the frame edges... and when I look, all the seals look fine.

The problem is that it looks like silicone is inbetween the glass pieces. So I think it owuld be impossible to take the old silicone off. Would it be fine if I just put new silicone all over the top of the existing silicone? making the bead wide enough to cover all of the old silicone?

All you have to do is take a razor blade and cut maybe three inches above and below where the leak is and remove all the silicone in that area. Now add you new silicone. Let dry at least 24 hours before adding your water back.

That sounds great... but I don't know where the leak is. I suspect its somewhere at the lower corners, since thats where water was comign from... However, all the seals look fine.

That's why I was thinking about resealing the whole tank..

Also, if I did find the leak and cut out the old silicones to your instructions.. What do I do were the old silicone meets the new one? Is it just simply overlapping the silicone where they meet

Razor blade all of the silicone off of the inside, make sure the residue is gone (alcohol is good for this) and reseal the whole tank. Don't mess with the silicone in between the panes.

if you are going to do the repair, this is considered the best method

Thanks for the help! I've already started to get the silicone out. As to not messing with the silicone in the panes.. Will I be fine my razor cuts in to it? I've pretty hard trying the get the silicone out and having to avoid cutting in the to panes is near impossible for me.
