Some of the comments there kinda touch a nerve. Everyone's going green, buying newer, greener products, and basicly, adding yet more stuff to the roads and landfills. Instead of throwing out your old, ecco unfriendly stuff for new, more friendly stuff, why don't you keep it and make it more friendly? Use it less, not make it greener.
Got a new electric car? I bet your old car is still on the road, so you did'nt reduce congestion, you just added another car. Part of why I drive a small motorcycle is to reduce my carbon footprint. It's an added bonus to spending less on transport. But I also made sure my SUV went straight into the crusher. Let the metal get recycled into bridge supports or something.
Go Green! Don't buy new stuff!
For 20k? No thanks... Id rather get another 5kish to get the Pontiac G8. Once the electric goes under 10k ill use it as my grocery getter. You can't really use it on long trips on the highway because it will probably run out of juice!
Electric cars are not green...
You plug this car into your outlet right? Of course you do, and who gives you electricity? The electric company does...and how does the electric company provide you with electricity? THEY BURN FOSSIL FUELS TO GENERATE THE ELECTRICITY!!!!! so, sure you may not be paying for gas at the pump...but lets face it, you're still using up fossil fuels by buying electric cars. You are therefore still contributing to pollution b/c they have to get the fossil fuels by drilling for oil, coal, and natural gasses.
It may not be any better for the environment...plus they're ugly and slow as ****
