80g to 125g Progression Pics...

Oooh, ... Hope the discus are recovering from their ordeal, poor things.
.... I know other dimensions are different, too, I just want to get some visual idea.
Thanks Kveeti!
The new tank is 2 feet longer than the 80 gallon, but for some reason it looks lots longer.. :D
It's my 'fantasy show' tank! The set-up of it went much better than I thought. The Discus, SAE's and Rasboras were "timid" for only a short time... ..not bad at all. I'm guessing using the 80 gallon water, mixed with new R/O water at the right temperature did the trick! Hardly any sign of stress...

fmcgrump,
No I didn't make the stand. Supposedly All Glass Co. made the stand. I don't have the talent for that.

Thanks, chefkeith and beviking..

Joe, what additional filter(s) do you have on the tank?
The filters that are running are 2 xP-3's, 1 Fluval 404, 18watt UV Sterilizer. The Vortex XL is used mainly after water changes.

(Did I miss something in Tank Specs?)

Very nice.

I hope to make it 2 125gjoe's one day ;)

125jeezzJoe! I like it!!!

Just out of curiosity, did you think of getting a 150gal? Isn't it the same footprint only taller? Are there reasons you didn't opt for it if you did think of it (other than $)?
I'm contemplating (=trying to convince my wife) about a 125 but why not go 150? 6' X 18" is my footprint limit too, but why not go a little taller?

Lighing/tank depth is an issue in planted tanks..the deeper the tank, the less light gets to the bottom of the tank. Shallow tanks are more desirable...though money might have something to do with it too:)..not to mention, having to reach further inside the tank to clean it.

Like Slappy said..
I need to be able to reach in and to get to the plants when needed. I did consider the 150.. It's also nice to have access to the back of the tank. It's set up at an angle which is a perfect position for the living room.

Brilliant tank! Quite an entertaining scrapbook of photos. What kinda background are you gonna use? Recently saw a DIY where they used real rock, egg cartons and plexiglass to make a stunning backdrop.

Thanks gregg604..
I'm using a black backgound. You can see it here: 125g
