$85,000 10 gal aquarium?

I thought TRUE antiques were over 100 years old? Personally I don't like either, the first is TOO small for anything really that would add to the beauty of the tank, and the second is just plain ole ugly IMO of course
First one has beautiful craftsmanship, I'll give it that. As Inka said, let the collectors have it. Its kinda gaudy, garish, wouldn't be too practical. If I had $85k to blow right now, I'd be posting over at MFK about construction of my dream mega-tank.
If I was closer to Kentucky, on the other hand, the second one would be sold. I'd love to have a vintage tank like that. I'd pay $250 for it in a heartbeat.

It varies by the type of item it is, how durable it is, and how many survive, as well as the era an item is crafted in and who crafted it. My wife collects carnival glass and depression glass. For example, IIRC, for these types of glass anything over 50-60 years old is considered antique (1950s or older), the period from the late 50s through the 70s is vintage, and anything after that is new.
Of course, it all comes down to what someone is willing to pay...the beauty of ebay.

If it's real gold and silver it would be worth that much, though I do like the second better. I love the huge fish they put in for the photography.
