Currently bidding on an 8g tank on eBay Uk.

Going to put male Betta in it (so it will be filtered and heated).

Can I fit anything else in there??

You could probably put a group of corydoras catfish (~4). Or you could do a trio of guppies, tho that depends on the temperament of your particular betta. You might also be able to put 4-5 small tetras (neon, probably).

However, don't do these all. Choose one species.

A final option would be to get a plastic divider and put a second betta in the other half. Just make sure they can't see each other (opaque plastic)

Good luck

I wouldn't do guppies at all because of their finnage. Pygmy cories would work, a trio or group of 4. Maybe endlers would work, or I like the s mall tetra idea. I also think that pygmy platies would be good as well. I had them for a while many years ago and they were really cute :D

Thanks for the replies guys - decided to go with 5 tetras : )

neons, cardinals, white clouds, harlequins, otos= like group of 4 or 5 even
black skirts, serpaes, black phantoms, lamp eyes, bloodfins, etc of that size= 3
and there are more which i cant think of at this moment

it would work... day 1: serpaes pick on betta, betta then strikes all of them, he is now mob boss, everyone fine

I think if you go with tetras you have to be really careful about what you pick. If they're too small/docile the betta will beat them up, and vice versa. If I were in your situation I would divide the tank and get another betta or get some shrimp and load up on the hiding places.

i would go with tetras. i cant imagine my pygmy cories in an 8 gallon, they'ed be jumping of the walls
an 8 gallon is large enough for tetras but to small for tiny corydoras?

an 8 gallon would be fine for neons or cardinals, but other than that the tank is too small.

platies are a good choice.
