Hey everyone, I'm new to the world of forums.
My questions is........
Does a 90 gal tank need to have center braces?
I'm upgrading my tanks and have found a used 90 gal but there are no braces.
I've heard of tanks bowing or (god forbid) giving out and losing everything so i wanted to check before i purchase.
What are your views?
Thanks in advance for the opinions/info.

a tank that big should definitely have a center brace. that is a lot of pressure in the center with the weight of the water. if it doesn't have a brace you might see significant bowing in the middle. is it acrylic or glass?

:welcome:

Its 3/8 in. glass... they say it doesn't bow but i know thats a lot of pressure.

If the original design had no center brace, the glass may be strong enough by itself. If it has been removed, I would not trust it.

:iagree:

^yep didn't even think about that.
