That’s insane! My mother had always plecos and they have never gotten that big. She had one who was approx 30cm and we considered him huge! I will have to consider what’s appropriate for them long term.
My loaches are clowns

The Plecos are probably stunted, my lfs has a panaque the size of a 2‘ koi and it’s like 8-12” tall

It wouldnt go crazy... but aggressive..

They do go crazy, my friend had one shank all their other fish and outcompetes them for food like a madman

I dont remmeber the dimensions of the tank, but yeah, a dwarf cichlid like a ram would do great.
