A banana a day

yes some people have that response to eating banana's but not everyone  my hubby can't eat them because they have the opposite effect

I know this is an old post, but it's a good one so I'm bringing it back up.

Also, the potassium is now shown to reduce your sodium absorption.

Now, just coat the banana with peanut butter and chocolate syrup.... :grinyes:

I had to laugh at the mosquito point being made, as mosquitoes are more attracted to blood with the banana sugars in it.

I'm diabetic. The amount of sugar and carbs in a banana pretty is bad news for people like me.

It's a zombie thread back from the dead!
who doesn't love zombies? ^^
Anyways, I love me some plantains.
mmmm, fried plantians!
Do they have more fiber than bananas? I think they have less sugar...

That's good to know. I didn't know they had that much sugar in them. crap.

Do fish like them?

the platy did, and the snails and black worms. I just tried it recently.
I don't know if the gourami, cory or khulis ate any or the neons, or the otos. The only one I saw eating it was the platy, it seemed very happy (it was kinda wrestling with it lol). I only used 1/3 of an 1/8" slice, peeled.
The cory did pass over it a few times lol.
I had to weight it down cause apparently it floats lol.
Someone mentioned after wards that the otos might like to eat the peel or at least the inside part (after rinsing).
I saved a little peel to try, but am going to wait till I can watch them for a while to make sure it doesn't just sit in the tank. Maybe Friday (if the peel's still good.)

Yeah, a medium banana has about 27 carbs, 14 of which are from sugar. Not a huge amount for the average person, but for diabetics, it's a pretty high number for one item of food.

Glad this thread was revived. Im gonna start eating more bananas now.
