Alot of people dont recamend washing the sand because the smaller the particle size = greater surface area for bacteria to grow on. 5 specks of dust can hold more bacteria then a grain of sand.

OMG, whilst struggling with my new tank to get it up the 3 flights of stairs to my appartment, there was an accident 
The good news is no one was hurt, and the insurance is going to pay, the bad, i have to wait longer to create a home for all the creatures i have wanted for years
I wish i knew what the moral of this story is, but i dont. I guess it was ment to happen in the great sceam of things.
