I remember that I am now as old as some of you!
Theaters had only 1 screen
26¢ gas
$1.86 an hour minimum wage made me rich
no color TV
no dial phones
3 channels on TV
My 1958 Plymouth Fury that was an eyesore until "Christine" became the rage.
$300.00 a month was good money and it qualified you for a new 4 bedroom house
no PC's, CD's, cell phones, beepers(pagers)
$100.000 bought a months worth of food for a family of 5 and took 30 bags to carry it in.
kids could be left in a car safely.
I remember when hitch-hiking was safe and the only way to go!
Well I remember the one screen in theaters, but thats it (out of that list, but my parents left me in the car alot, actually my brother ran me over when I was 18 mo. and he was left in the car.)
I don't remember your uncle holding you in one arm and a ciggy in the other, however I am sure my uncle probably did the same thing, hell Im sure my Mom probably did the same thing lol.
I remember when the funnest thing to do on the internet was screw with people in the old msn chat rooms.
I remember you could have conker fights at school, got a clip round the ear if you cheeked a policeman, and were able to buy root beer at macdonalds (I so miss Root beer)!!!
