I have plants that are nice and green and a couple that have black spots / marks (2nd pic) - ideas??

If you're pointing to the Java ferns, those are spores wherein plantlets will eventually develop.

Most of the time green spot algae attacks anubias/slow growers at high light since they are not able to use up the available nutrients as fast. If you want you can reduce the lighting by 30min- hour and make sure co2 is always stable.
oto cats though should take care of that algae pretty fast.

Impatient no; selfish perhaps (lol) - thanks man, makes perfect sense.
Oto's have a chance at it - I will watch. Got lights down to about 8-9 hours now and Co2 is holding steady.
