Photos from my 29g FOWLR

I was feeling creative, so i decided to sit in front of my tank for a little over an hour with a camera. I took probably well over a hundred photos and came back with only a handful that i thought were worth posting. It was worth the time spent though, IMO.

I almost don't wanna post it, but here's the ugly FTS. Please try to ignore the ridiculous algae problem. That's what happens when you're broke and have to build a cleanup crew a little bit at a time. It looks a LOT better than it did about a month ago.

And an oh-so-exciting picture of one of the trochus snails.

You know you are taking good pics when you can see a fish's teeth and a hermit crab's eyes! Hehe...nice job!

Well it takes a serious amount of patience. I took literally hundreds of photos and only came up with a couple good ones. I'm glad you enjoyed though. :)

In other news, the new clean-up crew is doing a really good job on the tank. They're making a serious dent in all the hair algae. Hopefully in a week or so, i'll be able to post a full-tank shot that DOESN'T look so ugly! :)

Looks very nice. I'd get a little aquaclear hob filter 200, put in a phosphate remover pouch and/or carbon and you should see a difference in a few days.

I've got a couple old penguin filters laying around. I could run one of those without the biowheel and throw a phosphate absorber in there i suppose.

I think what i really need to do is have more money so i can buy an RO unit or at least buy RO water for changes.

I buy r/o d/i from a machine at the grocery store. 18 litre bottle cost me 2.99 to refill. Check with your drugstore, they usually have distilled on the shelves.

You can buy "poly filter" amonia, nitrate, phosphate and carbon 'foam' pads made buy Aquadyne, and cut it to fit your filter. It works well, just change as needed (about 2 weeks) Its inexpensive and works well. I use the phosphate and carbon remover ones together in an aquaclear filter and find the water is clearer.
