A couple quick Sand Q's

Hmmm... I kinda like the Reef Grade stuff in the 1mm to 2mm range. The Fiji Pink is nice too...

In regards to getting sand at a decent price, I guess my best bet may be someone tearing a tank down? Even that premium aquatics price is more expensive than buying some of the bagged sands.... I can get some bagged stuff for about 1.50lb

That sounds fine. Try to include some other grades in there, if possible. One thing I'll add about my tank is that it is naturally "zoned." The areas with the highest flow have left nothing but rubble or crushed coral. There is evem one spot where rubble is required and crushed coral gets blown away. This is more reef-like in composition and provides the greatest diversity in terms of potential habitat. A good thing, if you ask me.

Any chance for pics of your sandbed Amp? I am curious how this looks; I dont think I have seen too many reef tanks with a truly varied sand bed.

I'll get some later today. Ignore the cyano that recently flared up from some stuff I did ;). It was cyano free a few weeks ago until I had to stir it up while moving things.
