a few notes to self

thanks everyone...i feel better now..lol...the fan is still running to help it dry but i can soon set everything back up once i go buy a new power strip lol luckily the one that burned up was a spare i had not my good timer

Not that you need anything else to budget for I'm sure, but while out getting a new powerstrip, did you put a GFI in your set-up somewhere? I changed the actual outlet but you can buy powerstrips and cords with them if you don't want to fuss with wiring.

Notes to self:

*Note1*: Do not open the canister filter while over the carpet, even if its turned off.
*Note2*: Power Strips do really burn up if water is poured on them while on.
*Note3*: No matter how many papers towels you use the carpet will still be soaked.

:angryfire:

Additional Note*** Do NOT overfill sump so when you turn off the return pump to feed you end up with water all over the carpeting..

One way or another,We have all done it:wall:,Live and learn!:shark:

um no gfi ...im not aloud to modify outlets as i live in the dorms on base or to some people "barracks" (AF calls it dorms cause they are nicer where as army calls it barracks cause they are dirty no offense to all those in the army or marines ...u are the ones serving this country i just go to work)

but i shall look into one with a GFI ...i just bought the cheapest one i could find :lipssealedsmilie:

shoulda made a new thread but ne way.....it could leave a ring around ur carpet... but idk about a stain or nething....worst case just use some carpet cleaner or shampoo and it will come out....its just the salt chilling there after the water dries....nothing to be overly concerned about..........
