A good, easy, cheap DIY CO2 reactor

Plantbrain - ? about your CO2 Reactor

I would like to build a CO2 reactor based on your design.
Soon, I want to set up a pressurized system, but until I can afford the regulator, tank, etc... I was wondering if your reactor can be used with the DIY yeast method?

wouldnt this design work a little better on the out flow of the canister rather than the intake side?reason being first off the reactor would stay much more cleaner since the water would have done been filter of debris before entering the diffuser and since there has been a little concern of the injection of high quantities of co2 into the intake can cause the seals and gaskets to deteriorate.just a thought.

right now i just inject into my intake side.and would like to build this inline setup.i and everyone else hates extra clutter in a tank.

sorry but i still dont get it if he did hook it on the outflow side it still would not burp and airlock the cannister because the co2 is being injected thru the nipple on the side of the reactor.not being fed directly to the canisters impellor.correct or not?look in the picture thats how i take it.

He said the setup he used to use would cause burps and such. When he decided to upgrade to the modified "Barr method", he tried it on the canister output side. This, he said, caused too much loss of flow from the canister. The gph and current through the canister was greatly reduced, in his experience. He modified it to fit on the input side of the canister, and things have been running fine since. THAT is the reason he changed sides. Does what I say make any more sense than what you read in the article? I hope I can clarify that for you. For some reason the pumps don't work as well if you have resistance AFTER the pump. If you place it BEFORE the pump, you don't have as drastic a loss, it seems. I guess they pull better than they push!

sorry.

i dont know how i missed it but you are 100% correct.maybe i should go to the eye doctor tomorrow.all those fireworks have blinded me:)

thanks

i stand corrected.
