I read someplace that to stop algae growth,or to not have as much, throw a few pennys in the tank, the presence of copper, or a metal, algae can't grow. Is this true? I really have to write these sites down when I read an interesting article!!

Copper will impact more than just algae--I certainly wouldn't use it in any of my tanks. Crustaceans in particular are sensitive to copper.

Controlling algae is a matter of controlling the nutrients available to it.
