Unfortunately my daddy Bangaii Cardinal hasn't been well ever since holding the last batch of eggs. It's like he had a dislocated jaw, his mouth was always open and he was unable to eat properly. There was no other sign of illness such as an injury etc, and this morning I found him entangled with a powerhead.

Given that Titch is nearly a year old and nowhere near the size of his parents, I have a feeling that "daddy" was quite well on in years - I've had him 4.

He's a few photos of "daddy" in his prime!!!

That sucks, Alison.

Him and his Mrs are my oldest fish along with my LMB. Mrs Bangaii is just staying in one corner of the tank so I'llbe keeping a close eye on her. I don't know if fish can die from a broken heart!!!

Aw, that's too bad. :tombstone: I bet you're right about old age, however. I wonder if banggais are a "pair for life" species? It could be that she's missing her mate.

At least you still have Titch. :)

That's too bad:(
I hated losing my Bangaiis...sorry to hear about it.
