My family and I went to a privately owned aquarium store the other day. My daughter fell in love with what they had labeled "Sun Catfish". I've learned to "study up" on a fish before buying one after my hubby made the impulsive mistake of irresponsibley buying a Iridescent Shark  . However, my hubby did not listen to me on waiting on buying it, and I've been searching for information on this particular fish and come up with nothing under that name. I however have been looking at the photo gallery and saw the "One-Spot Catfish" that appears to look like the one we bought. Is there such a thing as a Sun Catfish, or am I more than likely correct in thinking that it is probably the "One-Spot Catfish" as I know stores tend to mislabel fish  ? Any help please would be appreciated because he doesn't seem very happy and if he is a "One-Spot Catfish" than I can understand why he is so unhappy! We have him in our quarantine tank for the time being (a standard practice we use when purchasing new fish to unsure they are healthy and not going to infect our community tank), which this tank is a 10 gallon, hard water, and kept at a ph of between 7.4-7.6, 76 degrees and lightly planted.

yeah, 10gs is too small for that syno cat, and like DD said, they can get bigger than 10". if you want catfish for a 10G, all you could really get would be 5-6 cories. (as long as they stay under 2") or one of the REALLY small plecos, like peckoltias, otos, and bristlenose plecos (but only the dwarf bristlenose.).
