im thinking about getting a shop light for my 55 gal tank but i got a divider on top of the tank but anything i can use to make it work so i have more lightin?

Don't understand your question. Especially about the divider. What exactly are you asking?
I use a shop light over one of my 55s. It is my low light tank and works well in that roll.
Do you have a glass canopy on top of the tank?

Im talking about the divider where u put two hoods like one hood on one side then other hood on the other side but some 55 gal tanks dont have the divider on them
Are you talking about the center brace that the hoods rest on? If so, I don't understand how that would affect the lighting. Could you explain your situation in a little more detail? Tell us how you would like to mount the shop light and what problems you see the "divider" causing.
