My D.I.Y Center Brace has failed. with the weight of the lid sitting on the brace the way it was, it broke the glue away from the frame.

Long story short, are tank frames made out of an ABS plastic that solvent cement can bond to it?

I want to glue it back in place, but solvent cement is pretty much a one way road, If it doesn't work, then the plastic will be somewhat melted and have cement gooped all over it, screwing up any future attempts to glue a brace in place.

and the frame is simply too small for screws I think.

a what?

im trying to keep everything small, and not visible, and what is visible shouldnt be loaded with a metal plate and rivets everywhere.

As I posted above, the plastic rims on tanks seem to me to be the same material as model kits are made of (styrene). Modelling glue might work on it, but the same material would have to be used for the center brace. The glue works the same as pvc glue in that it melts the material and fuses it together, but as you probably know, a glue that works on one material will probably not work on another.
