Well one of my tiger barbs in the QT tank died tonight. I will have to go out and buy a replacement for him. My question is, how would I go about acclimating this new tiger barb to my QT tank's condition. The water in the QT tank has a 0.3% salt solution to take out any parasites that they might carry. Do I do the normal match the temperatures and then run a drip syphon technique or must I do something special?

Sounds good to me. I am still debating whether or not I should just keep with the 6 I have or go and buy 2 more to bring it to 8. I am afraid of fin nipping but my tank is almost entirely barbs so that might not be a problem.

I added 6 Tiger Barbs to my tank about 6 weeks ago and there haven't been any fin nipping problems what so ever. They are with a 2.5" parrot and a 3" Green Terror. I will say that I initially bought 4, as I was told that would be good, but I quickly found out, after research and just watching them that I needed a couple more. 6 was the trick and I'm sure you wouldn't have any problems. They are cool little fish though and I wouldn't mind having eight either.
