Just wondering if there were any other accountants like myself who got into this fishkeeping hobby and then realized if their bosses knew how much they spent on fish they would probably get fired...
lol, not one here but I decided to stop officially counting at a little over 1K. I figured I'd not fire myself that way although psst I just did a rough estimate in my head and :lipssealedsmilie:
Accountant here... and went out and bought software to be able to track all the expenses and income that I send and make on this hobby... (Aquarix... cause I JUST KNOW you'll ask). However I work in non-profits and am the boss... so I would have to fire myself, and that I am not about to do... after all I need to be able to afford my addiction.
KnvaeTo- takes one to know one, huh? I keep telling myself I don't need another aquarium but then I find a great deal that I can't pass up! My husband is starting to lose patience...
I still have every receipt (I don't know why I torture myself) and am well over $1K...and I just got a new 55...
you are only at 1k... lucky you... well over 5k here (and yes... I too have every receipt!)
Current tanks running are a 65gal, a 50gal and a 10gal. I also have a 65gal tall waiting for the substrate to arrive to begin setting that one up (plus need lighting, timer/powerbar and miscelaneous decor) I am also waiting for the 40gal to arrive with the same order as the substrate for the 65gal tall.
I won't tell my husband that you have $5K sunk into it. Of course my $1K was before the 55 gallon...spent $200 last week alone and that was only for sand, a bit of live rock, new heater, and a few other odds & ends...
That's also not counting the lizzard, the cats, and various other critters we have owned.
I'm dying to try poison dart frogs but I think another aquarium may lead to divorce.
