Ace25's 75G Build Thread

Chiller is here, installed and was holding right at 78 all day with the MH going for four of those hours. (will move on to normal lighting schedule tomorrow.) I just readjusted the temperature up to 80 and will leave it there as I think the nem is happier the closer to 80 I can keep it. So far no issues.

Sounds good. Ya, you may even want to set your chiller at 81 if it behaves the same as mine, turning on 1 degree higher than your set point and off 1 degree lower. Your chiller will have no problems keeping your tank cool, my 1/10th chiller is just barely good enough (I will upgrade to a 1/5th within a year I am sure) so I set my chiller at 80, so when it hits 81 and turns on I still have a good 1 degree of buffer room in case the chiller can't quite keep up. On yours, you know it can keep up, so setting it at 81 so it turns on at 82 it should never get over 82.2 really. Your power bill and your corals will thanks you for it also. Try and set your heater to come on at around 79.8.

I think my chiller is set to kick in at 2 degrees above the target temp. So I have it set at 79 so it will never get above 81. It only came on twice today for about 30 minutes each time. It cools that water remarkably fast. I also increased the flow in the tank by adding a Maxi1200 to run the "filter" and the stock pump to run the chiller. The maxijet is awesome and is actually probably putting out a flow equal to close to the 290 ghp is it rated...my other 290 gph pump was nohwere near that level But it is enough to run the chiller for sure. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack.

Ace i would be more then willing to pay you for a frag of the Birdsnest next time you frag it. I have been looking for a quality frag at my LFS but i have not found anything that i fell confident in. And i think i saw a Bali Green Slimmer in your collection i would also buy a frag of that if possible.

Now I think I need one of those! That is just too cool looking!
