Ace's ATS Build

Picture from today. I cleaned it Thursday, 4 days ago, and the screen was near "new" looking when I cleaned it. This screen is maturing much faster than my first ATS screens did. :)

Day 18, 3rd cleaning, last cleaned 7 days ago. After cleaning there was a really good base of green algae left on the screen, first time for that on this screen. First 2 cleanings wiped off all the slime and it looked near new again.

When I designed my main LED light I bought 2 sets of drivers, 4 of the D models and 4 of the PWM models. This was because I knew I wasn't going to get the PWM part setup as quickly as the LED light itself and I wanted to use the LED light.. now that I am finally getting back to my PWM controller I can swap out my D drivers for P drivers. I don't think I will be selling my D drivers though.. they are still good drivers and I have more LED projects in mind where I can use the D drivers. I would like to do 2 D drivers on my sump LED light instead of 1 constant current driver so I can add more LEDs, some colored blue and red ones, to see how those do on an ATS. My design now with the LEDs on the ATS was to get a good baseline so I knew what white LEDs could do. With the D drivers I can bump up the total # of LEDs up to 12 per side, multiple colors, and dimmer control because I think 12 LEDs per side at full power on my screen would be way overkill, but I think I may need 12 LEDs overall if I go with multiple colors in order to get good coverage with the colors.

Here is the screen at day 34 right before cleaning. Next week I plan on adding 4 more LEDs to each side in between the whites, 2 royal blue and 2 660nm reds, and running each side off their own 700ma driver. Right now it is running on a 1050ma driver. I am thinking by adding 4 more good LEDs to each side I can drop the current down to 700 to give the LEDs more life.

And here is a picture of the covers/fans for my LED lights.

I ordered some 660nm Red LEDs from RapidLED and got my them in today.. I decided to put 2 royal blues on one side to see if it makes any difference. So one side is 3 Warm white, 3 neutral white, and 4 660nm reds, other side is 2 warm, 2 neutral, 2 royal blue, and 4 reds. Running 10 LEDs per side now, 2 drivers, both 700mA constant current meanwell drivers.

Thought this pic looked cool, camera couldn't focus good on the lights and this is how one picture came out
