not sure about the safety of boric acid around tanks.. but it works as a microscopic abrasive... causing millions of teeny tiny cuts and abrasions on the bugs it touches... thus dehydrating them and killing them.

Yeah, my mom knew a guy who used to put lines of acid around his house, what he used was strong enough that it burnt their legs off though. Of course my mom went to his house one day and discovered that there was an entire wall covered in them and that the wall wasn't brown it was white. Talk about nasty.
And the flying ones from Florida are migrating here via Texas -- aaiiee! :eek3:
Well, after vacuuming that one up, I emptied everything from the stand's cabinet and scoured around it: no signs of any more. Maybe this guy was a scout, but I doubt the army is far behind.

Tomorrow I'm getting some boric acid. I can lay it along the carpet edges and the window sill.

my goodness the one time i am MORE than happy to live in a cold weather climate lol! id probably die, no seriously i would, if i ever came upon a roach in my house! where i used to work i HEARD there were roaches (it was a huge facility with lots of crevasses lol) and one day i saw them i quit, cant do bugs lol! good luck
honestly, i havent had roach problems since i moved to so cal. and i lived in low income apartments. i had them in other places id lived (texas, panama, washington state, virginia)
