Early 80's??? Dang I wasnt even around until 83'. Ill look for this snake prob tomorrow lol. I know vicious wont get it. He isnt so good with snakes.
 
No prob GER, with my hair as long as it is people sometimes make the same mistake in person! I will throw out one little hint: unlike most snakes I put up this one's not venomous. It's a Colubrid and not even rearfanged!
 
It reminds me of a Ribbon Snake. How about Thamnophis proximus rubrilineatu?

LOL well good thing i didnt look for it or i would of looked under the same genus as well. Tomorrow Ill look for sure. Drama drama drama at work lol. Hey How big does this snake get?
 
Only info I an find says max size is 1.5 meters. The one that I kept got to a bit less than 3' before it was killed. This was the snake that taught me the value of feeding pre-killed. I used to feed it two small mice a week, put one in and it would grab and kill it in its rather unusual manner and then swallow, then put in the second, etc. One night I was in a hurry to get out and just dropped in both mice. The next day I found a frightened mouse huddled in the corner of the enclosure, and my lovely ____________ _____________ with half of its head eaten away. Let this be a rather belated lesson to anyone who reads this.Hey wait I think I just gave another hint!
