AC's Herp ID Game :)

This snake is completely non-venomous.

That was a tough one. FYI though:

"Local pain ("stinging") and swelling with or without numbness, redness, lymphangitis and tender enlargement of local lymph nodes have been reported after bites by Balanophis ceylonensis...Mild systemic symptoms such as headache and giddiness were reported after bites by Balanophis ceylonensis..." (Meier & White, "Handbook of clinical toxicology of animal venoms and poisons")

"These snakes are mildly venomous. Ophisthoglyphous fangs are present." (http://www.srilankareptile.com/Serpentes/Balanophis ceylonensis.php)

"In the last decades were also severe envemomations of following species known (selection): Rhabdophis tigrinus, Boiga irregularis, Boiga dendrophila, Balanophis ceylonensis, Macropisthodon flaviceps" (http://www.rear-fanged.com/biologie.html)
