Yes, thanks. I was under the impression carbon was a necessity. I have removed the zeolite and am going to monitor the amonia for a few days.
The water is crystal. I thought maybe the filter was at fault. D'oh!

Tank water is often cloudy in the first few weeks after setup. It's just a bacterial bloom from the sudden change in conditions and constant flux in your tank. Once things level off and reach a steady state, the water clears up.

It might of been a bacterial bloom, but the way it cleared after the zeolite and old carbon pack were removed, I wonder if they weren't just impeding filtration of the little powerhead? Things are beautiful this morning. I'm so please. Many thanks to you again.
