So I had the faucet fixture changed in my bathroom sink awhile back before I decided to get back into fish keeping, and now the python adapter does not fit the faucet. When I unscrew the faucet aerator it leaves the male threaded pipe (with only a few threads). The brass faucet adapter for the python is also male threaded and appears to be slightly larger than the diameter of the faucet pipe. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this? Maybe there is another adapter that I can use? I've attached a few pics - one that shows the python adapter held up to the faucet threads and the other that shows the removed aerator and the approximate diameter of those female threads that attach to the faucet pipe.

Dang, I had the exact same problem after switching out a faucet. Thought I’d need some weird custom adapter. Didn’t realize the Python fitting had hidden female threads either — total game changer! Appreciate you posting this, saved me a headache.

I realize this is an old thread but the below info might help other who stumble onto it.

I do not use a python for water changes of vacuuming. However I do use two things they make. One are their hoses. I do this because most of my pumps and hoses you garden hose size connections as do Pythons. But Python also makes an assortment of adapters. Gor y=years I used to sell at weekend events either in the vendor rooms or doing room sales when permitted.

I needed to be able to connect to different sinks and i have every one of the python adapters. This included the one designed for many of the faucets which don't adapt to any of the rest.

That said, when I did the 2022 Catfish Convention in Herndon, VA, I wanted to be able to make RO/DI water in my room and I brought my portable 75 gpd RO/DI unit. The hotel had undergone major renovations since the last time I went and their sinks would not use any of my adapters. There was no way I could remove a piece form the faucet to which I could connect. I had to run out to a local super market and buy about 23 gals of distilled water. Python Faucet Adapters
