Hello everyone. Been thinking bout adding a shrimp to my display tank. Only I can't makeup my mind which ones to put. Coral banded, blood, or sexy. I'm kinda leaning towards the coral shrimp but the others are cool too. What would you all do????????

cbs is too big if you are talking about the 30g in your siggy IMO... in my experience the fire (blood red) are more shy than skunk cleaners and about twice the cost. i know much about sexy's but know that they are super cute and look great in groups of 3 or so. i personally love my skunk cleaners, they are always out and about and are very friendly...

I agree w/ Salty. The skunk cleaners have a lot of personality, and will come up and clean your hand if you stick it in the tank. When my lights go off and the moonlights come on, they are always zipping about the tank.

I got a blood shrimp who has been hiding for the past two days (he's new). I'm hoping he comes out but I must say, if not, with the higher cost I should have gone with a skunk shrimp. I wanted the skunk but my neighbor came to the LFS with me and loved the blood and convinced me - should have stuck with my original plan.

Add me as well. Cleaners will be all over the place, fun to watch, and will even clean your hand for you if you stick it in the tank. My cleaner is going on 3 years old. Anyone know how long they live? It still molts like every 3-4 weeks.

I also have 2 pistol shrimps (Japanese and Tiger) that both hide in the rocks the same way my fire shrimp did when I had one. You only see glimpses of them and I have no idea how they have survived in the rocks for 3 years now in my tank. I never seen them come out to eat but the Japanese Pistol is bigger than the fattest fire shrimp I have seen and sounds like a branch breaking in my tank about 2-3 times an hour for years because of it.

Dang.. I had a few before this one and they only lived around a year. I thought that was normal until I got this one. It is huge now, feelers have to be 5" long each. Sucks he won't be around much longer.

Hanging out upside down on my koralia.. image flipped to show him right side up.

I have a CBS and pretty much all you see are the antennae.. He really only comes out at night.

WOW...looks like the skunk won it hands down. I've done my reading and plan to get 2 skunk shrimp this week sometime but everything I read says that you need to add iodine periodically cause the shrimp use it to build their new exo-skeleton. Do any of you do this? Will my weekly WC take care of it? Thanx
