My friend was given a 9-10 inch Jaguar because it was too agressive for the other owners. He put it in a 95 gallon tank with his 2 big oscars a connict and a green terror and sadly the jaguar killed all the fish within a few days.My friend was very upset about the fish.He thought his fish would be o.k. because they were of similar size.He later went out and bought an 8 inch jack dempsey and overnight the jaguar killed that too.Now he has one fish swiming around and doesn't want just one fish in his tank so he was thinking about getting a 10-11 inch red devil from a fish store near by.He told the people at the pet store what happend and if he could add the red devil with the jaguar. They told him that the red devil is very agressive too and had to be moved to another tank because it was terrorizing and beating up the other large cichilds. The red devil is now by itself in a 50 gallon tank.My friend wants to buy the red devil but is worried that his Jaguar might kill the red devil.

My question is would it be o.k. for him to add the red devil with the Jaguar or is the Jaguar going to kill it or vise versa?
He doesn't want any more fish dead!

I think that it would be ok to put the devil in with the jag cause I had an 8inch devil and it was so mean that it was chasing two fish at the same time If u add the devil I think that it would balance out the aggression

if he does get it mix the tank decor and add the fish with a divider as most likely the jag will still bash it. if no divider then try it at night time and put lots of pots in for either 1 to hid just in case they fight. adding a larger RD is bad also as they can be very aggro but the jag should hold its own and vise verser

GOOD LUCK.

Have him get a good, sturdy divider. If he doesn't, the jag will be all over the RD before he has a chance to get used to his new hom. The jaguar will have all the advantages then and likely kill the RD.

He may be able to eventually remove the divider, or he may not, but at least the tank won't look os bare.
