adding cichlids in with Angels

hahaha, Bo that is funny... it was a typo!! LOL

As far as the discus go, I don't know if I am really ready to go Discus at this point. I don't think the tank is the way it needs to be for them... and really, they should be more of the focal point of the tabnk.... plus, I am not sure they have a selection I would be interested in having.... I am not one that is very fond of the pigeons and it seems that's all they have around here.

What about a small school of geos? Red head tapajos, pindare, and taeniopareius all stay in about the 6" range and are peaceful. If not I'd go for the apistos

lots of great choices, I'm going to have to take this list with me.... my tank is going to have a new look, woohoo! Ok.... so are any of these fish not good for Planted tanks?

I've had both rams and kribs with my angel, and there have never been any problems with the mix. I did lose my rams soon after buying them also, one by accident. The other 2 were balloons and seemed sickly anyway. It was quite funny to see the 3/4" ram chase away the 2.5" long angel!

The only problem that I had with kribs was with breeding aggression from the kribs. Even then, the diamond tetras were really the ones that got the brunt of it. I think it was because the diamonds had no concept of staying away whereas the angel would stick to the other side of the tank when the kribs were breeding.

well, sadly, the LFS I went to (I only went to 1) only had Rams aside from the brackish cichlids or the africans... I found nothing in the store that were on my list.... but they did have 3 tanks for rams... 1 tank of german blues, 1 tank of goldens, and one tank of what was labeled "Rainbow Rams". They looked to be a mix between German blues and Bolivian Rams.... they were pretty but I just wasn't too sure about them.

I will get some pics up in a bit...

blues or golds are a good choice..same fish diff color morph ;)

rainbow rams?

weird

did a bit of research and it appears the rainbow ram ia another name for the Blue Ram (Ramirezi) however, it is a name given to a morph that appears to be more mixed in color..
the Blue ram usually has more of the blue as predominant color golds of course more gold in their bodies.
rainbow looks to be a colormorph but it is still Ramirezi
