Hi,

I would like to add tetras to my 20G tank, but since i want to add 6, the proper way is to add 2 or 3 a week at the max, correct? And I assume this goes with any schooling community fish?

When we set up our tetra tank, we added 4 at a time, the fish were small so the extra bio-load wasn't very much, it looks like you have fish already, to be safe you could do 3 then 3, checking wp's acordingly,.......:)

Ok, that makes sense, I was looking to add a male dwarf gourami and 2 more emerald corys, plus i have the 5 zebra danios and 2 emaralds already, am i over-stocking?

Your sig says 4 danios, but thats ok, So you have 5 danios, 2 cory's, you want 6 tetras, and 1 dwarf gourami, i personally wouldn't put any more cory's in for lack of food, maybe 1 more, imo that would be stocked, remember a 20 gallon is closer to a 15 gallon after all the decorations are added........:)

My bad, I only have 4 danios.. The only reason i was going to add more corys was that i read they should be in groups of 3 or more, which i honestly didnt know before i got them..

In a 20, 2 is good they see each other quite a bit, but if you want to go for it, we have 1 albino Cory in our 29, but him and the bn pleco are buddies,..:)

How big are the albino corys? I love the emerald corys, they always pal around together.. :) Weeser, just wanted to say thanks to you personally since you have been giving good advice since i started using this website 2 months ago to set up my tank.. I never knew a thing about tanks till I found this website, most people on here know a lot more than those 'experts' at the retail stores.. They are clueless.. A month ago I brought in a sample of my water to see what they would say about my levels, and they said i can get more fish even though the ammonia was high and it wasnt cycled yet.. They dont know anything. Anyway, looking forward to posting a picture of the tank once i get the gourami and the tetras.. Thanks again!

Thanks, there are alot of people here that can give good advise from real world experiences, our albino should get up to about 2 inches, the same size as the tetras and dwarf gourami your considering......:)

Yes, i have gotten good advice from many people, that is true... Ok, I will take a look at the albino too, but I love those emerald corys.. :)

Yep emerald Cory's are very nice, our lfs only had albinos when we were there, I'm waiting for them to get some pandas for another tank we have...:)
