Adding fish to the tank

depending on your stock, a small school of corys could look really nice.

There are a lot of type of peaceful, pretty plecos that stay much smaller than your common pleco. He's probably not done growing yet either. There are as was said various types of bristlenose plecos, clown plecos, gold nugget plecos, some nice peckoltia species. Do some research on the types of fish you'd like to keep in addition to the pleco and look for environment compatibility to be able to put your new stock list together.

BTW - I just measured the pleco this morning. He's almost 13 inches from tip to tail

That looks more like a bala shark than a tinfoil barb to me. They like to be in schools....I'm not entirely sure but I know they need atleast a 4 foot tank so there's a possiblity you could keep him but I'll wait for someone else to confirm that and for an ID confirmation.
