I Need Help With Stocking a 12 Gal

I have had a 12 gal. (eclipse system w/bio-wheel...) for a couple of months now with two female bettas in it and have just not gotten around to putting more fish in it because of various reasons, mainly just being too busy. I recently purchased 3 Sunset Coral Dwarf Platties (they are only supposedly supposed to grow to 1") and they are doing fine. I was wondering what other fish and how many I should put in my tank now that I am adding fish?

Some fish that I was thinking about were:
Panda Cories, Glowlight tetras, Rummy Nose tetras, Neon tetras, and Albino cories?

Can someone please help me with which to pick, if there are better choices, and how many of what? :look:

Thanks,
Evan

1 inch rule

the rule I was taught was never more than one inch of fish (full grown) per gallon of water. If you go that high regular water changes are a must

Hi Evan, welcome to AC!

Unfortunately, I'd say you're fully stocked already and shouldn't add anything else.

All of the fish you listed are schooling fish and like to be in groups of 6 or more, you definitely don't have room for 6 more fish. You could maybe get away with 1 more platy or female betta assuming you do at least weekly 40% water changes.

Are there any other choices besides the ones that I have listed that are possible to put in since I obbviously don't have room for that many (6) fish as stated??

wow how many wrong things are there with that rule.. to many to count

dont follow the inch per gallon rule. it is garbage that needs to be thrown into the incinerator and blasted with fire until its a fine white ash.

id say that you are fullt stocked and if you want some bottom activity get some ghost shrimp, and then a smaller snail for algea

Yes, but I really didn't get very many responses and what I got was only part of what I asked.
