they wrap it in wet newspaper so there is still life on it. but since it is manhandled, and put in the dark for two days with not a lot of water, some dieoff will occur and you will have to cure it again

i actualy havent.... but at one point i was seriously considering it because the cheapest lr around here was 8 bucks a pound for what looked like at one point base rock. all white with a few specs of coraline and everything else.
but then i found my local reef club and started buying it for about 2 bucks a pound from people who were breaking down tanks, bought too much, ect.

Get an el cheap-o rubber maid tub and a power head you can use if for all sorts of stuff.
