I have 4 tetras in my 10g tank, 2 were in there for 3 weeks and 2 more were just added last weekend. At what point do you guys think it would be okay to begin looking at more fish. Also what will do well with my tetras? I was thinking maybe one or two bigger ones or maybe more small fish like the tetras so it will be busy looking. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also do shrimp add alot to the bioload of a tank and are there any that people particularly like>??? THANKS GUYS!!

no other fish, no real plants, tank is fully cycled, as for the species of tetras im not exactly sure. 2 have red reflective spots on their head and tail. Another is almost all red and bigger than the rest. And the last one is all white and small. LOL i hope this helps. ill go back to the pet store to find out if its really important. Thanks for your help bud. I got rid of that pleco like you said, i figure i should get rid of him now before i get attached

Ghost shrimp, cherry shrimp, amano shrimp -- any of those will work. The amanos really need a source of algae to eat, however.
Tetras are schooling fish, so whatever you have you should increase their numbers until you have at least 4 of each, six is preferred but you won't have room in a 10g for two schools of tetras.

Really? I'll buy that. I got five and threw them in my Boesemani tank. I assumed they got eaten but two did a fly-by while I was rearranging the driftwood yesterday. I've lots of algae -- grrr -- so they have tons to eat.mishi8 said:I've had good experiences with Amano shrimp.
