adding substrate ?

Hello-

My current sandbed is about 2" of old kastle white sand. It is VERY fine and blows all over the place, so I'd like to change it to Aragonite.

How do you think I could go about this? Could I just siphon off about an inch off the top and add about 2-3" of Aragonite, or would that possibly cause a crash?
My params are good- 0 amonia, 0 nitrites, very low nitrates. Ph about 8.2

I would do it slowly. Only replace a section of the top of the bed at a time.
