Adding to my 55 Gallon

Alright well this is what I am thinking. Eaither go with a couple platys or a couple mollies, or maybe a couple guppies. I really like the idea of livebearers. What would you guys go with given my present fish?

Well, I already satted I'd go with 6 female and 2 male guppies and then look forward to lots of fry. I you do any livebearers I would at the very least, given your tank size and the fact that you do not have it overstocked, go with a trio (one male and two females). A trio is generally suggested as males can be very... relentless in their pursuit of a little lovin'. This can often times stress the females out. Some folks like 3 females to one male as well. You could easily fit that into your tank as well.

So once they have their babys then what? Also Harlock you are talking fancy guppies right or just regular guppies?

My mollys and my neons get along great together. The mollys never bother them. I myself am done with mollies. They chase each other almost to the point of death. Mine had to be seperated. Now one of my mollies has shimmy bad and I suspect it is because these fish do better in hard water, which neons dont like. The cures I have tried do not work.

Ok thanks guys, also instead of starting a whole nother thread I have another question. It is about drift wood. I was going to buy it from http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produ...ll&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Np=1&N=2004&Nty=1
because I have had such good luck with them in the past. I was thinking about just one piece and putting a java fern or two on it. A couple questions though. After I soak it for two weeks will I have to worry about it turning my water brown? Also do live bearing fish like driftwood in the tank? I know the neons will love it but what about platys and guppies?

Thanks again

ahh a driftwood question..
well i dont have a tank yet (its coming on SAT) but i bought mt driftwood to soak it,
the LFS guys told be that they were already treated, but i still soaked, for 4 days, the wayer had a little tint to it... very little.
so if you got wood that is already treated, you will not have to work about the color of water in your tank..

plus i kinda like a little tint :)

if you go for certain fish it brings out a lot of color in them the tanic acid which is part of the tinting. But you also would want to soak it to waterlog it so it sinks.
