Hi Friends,

Just wanted to know when can I add water to my tank after it has been made ? Its already 24 hours and I'll be getting it all ready in another 10 hours or so. Will it be safe to add water after that or do I have to wait longer ?

Kindly guide me...
Thanks a lot !
Regards and Care

Assuming this is a glass tank, the answer depends on when the aquarium was built. Contact the builder of your tank and ask them what their recommendation is.

Waiy at least 48 hours after the tank is made (meaning when it is sealed with silicone) to let the silicone dry and cure.

After the 48 hours, I would recommend a test fill outside or somewhere where if it breaks/leaks it won't make a huge water mess.

Let the tank sit with water for at least 12 hours to ensure that it is sealed well, empty it, bring it inside, and then you can start your tank!
Dont forget to cycle it!

you got the tank already!!! that is great!

i think it depends on the brand of silicone used, but i hear most people saying it takes about 48 hours for the silicone to cure. Also, make sure that the silcone smell is gone to ensure that it is cured so that might take more than 48 hours. some people recommend 72 hours. being way overly cautions i would wait 4-7days.
